Journey begins at 1.30pm from the hotel you abode. While the warmth of the sun teases the eyelids to a dreamy nap, you are on your way to catch a glimpse of the many species that enjoy the relaxation under the afternoon sun. The rising temperatures entice the majestic elephants to come bathe ever so casually sharing its space with the water buffalos and the many deer that risk being croc-bait as they drink a sip of water.
As the sun sets the elusive leopard makes his way to the play ground to practice the mastery of hunting you might even see her teaching a few cubs the art. The famous Koti-Gala is a well known spot where leopards relax at enjoying a snooze.

Sri Lankan sloth bear, Sri Lankan Leopard, Sri Lankan Elephant, Wild Water Buffalo are amongst the endangered species to whom Yala is a sancturary. Wild Water buffalo is native to Sri Lanka. Toque Macaque, Golden Palm Civet, Red Slender Loris, and Fishing Cat are among the 44 mammals that can be seen in the Yala Wild-life park. The elephant population of the park varies seasonally. Yala hosts a variety of ecosystems ranging from monsoon forests to marine wetlands making it a rich experience for even the seasoned Safari goer.

ala Safari takes an approximate duration of 4 - 5 hours.

Maximum capacity of one Safari Jeep: 4 - 6 passengers
